The 2017 CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival) data has been published. MTAC strives itself on improving our Cardiac Arrest survival to hospital discharge rates by implementing the best practices and care possible to our community we serve.
While you may think these numbers are low, MTAC has better survival rates than the rest of Delaware County, Pennsylvania and Nationally.
We are continuing to increase our survival rates by ensuring high quality CPR, public education on bystander CPR and hosting free CPR classes for our local residents and businesses.
In 2016, MTAC had a 5% overall survival rate. For 2017 we had a significant increase to a 12% survival rate.
MTAC leads survival rates compared with data for ALL agencies in Delaware County, Commonwealth of PA and nationally. The national survival rate is 10.4%
Other interesting data that we collect is bystander CPR. Thanks to our community involvement, Marple Township has a 56% bystander CPR rate vs 30.6% in Delaware County and 39.4% nationally.
We want to thank all of our members and staff who truly make a difference in people lives.
