June Member Spotlight: Amanda Scheerle, EMT
Q. How long have you been in EMS? What is your current position at Marple EMS?
I have been in EMS since early 2011. I ran on East Lansdowne’s ambulance as a 3rd before even starting EMT school. Once I got into school I would run on the ambulance every weekend. My current position is on the fair acres truck.
Q. What made you become a part of EMS?
I became a part of EMS because I wanted to help people. Seeing people at their worse and being able to lend a hand makes the rough days all worth it.
Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job/position?
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing I made a difference in at least 1 persons life.
Q. What are your hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m very family oriented. My weekends are dedicated to spending time with my son, and family.
Q. What is an interesting fact about you that no one may know?
I enjoy baking cakes, and decorating them. I enjoy making the icing from scratch.
Q.What did you want to do while growing up?
Growing up I wanted to be a nurse. I wanted to work with children in the NICU.
Q. Tell me about your life….
I like spending time with my family and friends especially my two year old Danny .
