The Oakmont Fire Company regrets to announce the death of Assistant Chief Nick Sava. Nick has long been an active and dedicated volunteer at Oakmont, serving in multiple leadership positions, up to the rank of Deputy Chief. In addition to currently holding the position of Assistant Chief, Nick also is a Board of Director, and Life Member. Nick will be sorely missed by all of us at Oakmont. Rest Easy Nick, we will never forget you, or your dedicated volunteer service to the residents Haverford Township.
MVA with Fire – I476SB – December 14, 2020
MTAC was dispatched for a MVA on I-476 SB. Crews arrived to find a single car MVA on fire. Luckily both occupants were able to escape the burning vehicle and were attended to by EMS (Marple Township Ambulance Corps and MICU 15) for minor injuries.

RIP Brian Niedelman – MTPD
We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our police officers. Our thoughts and prayers are with MTPD and their families as they struggle through this difficult time.
The Marple Township Police Department is mourning the loss of Officer Brian Niedelman #67, who served the Department for three and a half years. Officer Niedelman tragically passed on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Prior to working for Marple Township, Officer Niedelman served with the Amtrak and Collingdale Police Departments. Officer Niedelman is survived by his wife, Lacey, and two young children.
